The world's oldest hotel in Japan
Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan is a hot-spring hotel in Hayakawa, Yamanashi, Japan. This is one of the most famous hotel in the "Land of the Rising Sun". The interesting thing is that it is not known for beautiful scenery or quality of services, but for its age - more than 1300 years old!

Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan was officially opened in 705 AD, which means it's now 1310 years old. Since then, the hotel has almost never once closed even for a day. It worked no matter what was going on with the whole world. Only until 1997, Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan temporarily closed to renovate the interior and other works. Soon, it continued activities as if nothing had ever happened.

During its operation, Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan has been operated by only one family with 52 consecutive generations have managed this property. The hotel was also a favourite accommodation of many famous historical figures. One of them is Japan's first Shogun - Tokugawa Ieyasu.

In 2011, Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest hotel in the world.
