'Deadpool 2' will be the Marvel superhero version of 'Rush Hour'

Scriptwriter Rob Liefeld said that "Deadpool 2" could become the superhero film version of “Rush Hour” with the humorous scenes of the two main characters.

In the interview on the San Diego Comic-Con event, screenwriter Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, said that Deadpool 2 will probably have the style of the hit comedy Rush Hour in 1998.

Deadpool 2 and Rush Hour are two different genres and have a gap of 20 years. However, Liefeld confirmed there is something similar between the two movies.

Deadpool 2 will be the eagerly-anticipated return of superhero Wade Wilson (Deadpool) with the humorous performance of actor Ryan Reynolds.

In the second episode, the film also introduces two completely new mutants, Domino (Zazie Beets) and Cable (Josh Brolin). "He (Josh Brolin)'s such a great actor, that's where it starts, and gravitas, and who else really is going to hold their ground with Ryan as Wade/Deadpool. That is energy unbridled, and so you've gotta hold your ground." said Rob Liefeld.

Deadpool 2's director David Leitch also expressed his satisfaction with Josh Brolin's performance as Cable.

As revealed by Liefeld, Cable and Deadpool will be like a buddy cop film pairing inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) in Rush Hour.

The scriptwriter added: "It's going to be comic book's equivalent to Rush Hour, and I don't know if comic fans are ready for it. I think it's going to be great."

Earlier on Good Morning America, actor Josh Brolin revealed Deadpool 2 would be even more humorous than the first.

"To me, it's even funnier than the first one." Brolin revealed. "When they asked me to do it, I was like 'I'm doing the Thanos thing right now, and should I do it?' And my wife just said 'Read it. Why are you even thinking? Just read it.' And I read it and I laughed harder than I've laughed in a very long time. So it's funny."

Cable is not Josh Brolin's only outstanding role in the following year. Marvel fans are looking forward to Brolin's role as super evil Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth.

Experts commented that playing two roles as the two Marvel comic characters popular in two movies premiered in the same year is really a risky decision of the 49-year-old actor.

After the success of the first part, the audience and the specialists set a high expectation for Deadpool 2. In addition, the first season sales reached more than $ 700 million, a record for a R-rated film (limiting under 17 years old audience). That number also put a lot of pressure on Deadpool 2.

Currently, David Leitch's Deadpool 2 is still being filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool/Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Zazie Beetz (Domino), Josh Brolin (Cable/Nathan Summers), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Leslie Uggams (Blind AL), Julian Dennison, and Stefan Kapičić (Colossus).

Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
