Microsoft had a major victory over Amazon in the cloud battle

Surpassing Amazon, Microsoft won an exclusive contract with the largest e-commerce company in India.

Microsoft has just won a major victory against rival Amazon Web Services in the cloud battle. It's winning the exclusive contract service provider and Azure cloud platform for Flipkart.

Flipkart is India's largest e-commerce platform, so this monopoly deal means a lot to Microsoft. This contract not only helped Microsoft gain a large customer base, but also helped stop Amazon from continuing to expand its reach in emerging markets.

The agreement between the two companies was announced at a meeting between CEO Satya Nadella and Flipkart co-founder and CEO Binny Bansal. The partnership will begin with a cloud computing data storage infrastructure, which will then extend to more advanced services such as cloud computing.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is also a native of Hyderabad, India. That's why the CEO has a lot of good relationships with companies in India. He also expressed his admiration for Flipkart, claiming that it is India's largest scale and technology e-commerce company.

On the e-commerce front, Flipkart is Amazon's competitor. Perhaps partly because of this, Microsoft easily won this exclusive contract. Never before, however, did Amazon ever offer AWS service to its competitors (Netflix, for example).

Amazon also announced that it would spend $ 5 billion to develop its AWS platform in India, the first step was to build a data center in Mumbai last year. However, Microsoft gained a bigger advantage in this war, having won one of India's largest customers.

To compete, Microsoft will also continue to upgrade its Azure cloud computing platform and services. The next step will be the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analysis in Azure, to serve the needs of sales, advertising, marketing and customer care most effectively.
